As a web designer my life would not be complete without these very useful applications/programs.Useful apps image  Below is a list of applications/and or programs for web designers and developers, that I use. They will save you time, money, and frustration. I promise!

Ok before I get to the list I would just like to point out that these may all be apps, but they are all going to be very different. Some may have installers and run off your computer, while others may be web apps, some may run on Adobe air, etc. you get the point. So I am using the words application/programs loosely. Also if you don't already have Adobe Air installed you should! Adobe AIR - a cross-platform runtime environment for rich-internet and desktop applications. You can get it for free here. It will be needed for some of the best apps out there!

1) Doomi. A to do list application

Doomi is probably my favorite application I am going to list. Its simple and fast. What isn't to like? Doomi was designed from the ground up to stay out of your way and out of your browser. It has all the features you use, and none of the ones you don't. Create, edit, set reminders, and keep archives of your old tasks.

2) Zend Studio. Integrated Development Environment

Zend Studio is the only Integrated Development Environment (IDE) available for professional developers that encompasses all the code editing capabilities needed to develop modern business applications. It includes a powerful code editor with support for all web formats, Zend Framework Integration, Web Services support, access to hundreds of predefined code templates and PHPDoc support. These features combine to provide unprecedented simplicity and productivity for developers.

3) ColourLovers. Color + Design Community for Creative Inspiration

Colorlovers is a Color + Design Community for Creative Inspiration. This site is great for finding colors/palettes/patterns that go great together.

4) Adobe Kuler. Desktop

Adobe Kuler is another Adobe Air app. Kuler desktop brings Adobe's color theme web application to the desktop. Kuler desktop allows you to import color themes/palettes directly into Adobe software applications such as Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.

5) Give Up and Use Tables.

Give up app

Give Up and Use Tables You know, we've all been there. We want to make it work with CSS. But sometimes it's just not worth the effort. The hacks and conditional comments ruin our clean markup. And we spend hours trying to make a simple layout work. Occasionally, we have to remind ourselves that we've done enough and it's time to move on, and this app is great for that.

And that completes my list. I hope you enjoyed it, and get some use out of the apps. I know I have!

#5 bad bad BAD! shame on you.
5) Give Up and Use Tables.

badbadbadbadbadbad and immoral. smilies/smiley.gif oh did I say bad?
there are reasons for standards, and good ones. everyone should have rite to read websites, even blind/disabled. lets not make it harder for them just because we are lazy.

this is the worst advice ever. ick. that's like saying some elderly person fell across the street and you wait for traffic to clear for 1min but then decide its not worth it after that.

rest tips are great though. dont want to sound like ranting lunatic, but standards are good. mhm mhm.
